Transnational Education and Students’ Mobility Centre known as TESMC has been established to encourage partnership in higher education and to promote and support for students studying for qualifications from institutions oversea. The centre focus on internationalisation, the social dimensions of higher education and the sustainability of strategic international partnerships.
The primary focus is to provide a platform for Circle International partners and the centre members to develop models for transnational HE partnerships, and to guide the development of diverse and socially orientated practices, generating social capital and enabling the collaborative stimulation of intellectual capabilities to promote social development and growth.
TESMC will endeavour to connect partners in dynamic collaboration models in order to maximise the effectiveness of transnational higher education programmes & strategies. This will help members and partners to evaluate the structures and processes of transnational partnerships and encourage long term educational capacity building in host & sponsoring institutions.
TNE plays major role in student mobility as well as staff mobility and integration, through secondments or participation in academic committees. TNE and initiatives to increase student mobility require staff training and awareness to ensure growth and to ensure that this growth meets both international and local needs.
TESMC aims to develop an understanding of different models of International collaboration and different types of engagement across a wide range of HE operations to create higher levels of absorptive capacity, supporting identification of the critical success and failure factors for international HE partnerships.
The centre organises different events that help to achieve the objectives related to partnership in HE and student mobility. We organise annual conferences, seminars and workshops covering themes that have direct impact on student mobility and TNE such as accreditation, articulation agreements, civic engagement, and globalisation. TESMC invites speakers to present topics related to the centre mission like International branch campuses, Internationalisation, Joint/dual degree programmes, quality assurance and university social responsibility. The centre enhances principles of strengthening civic commitment and promoting a focus on ecological, environmental factors to raise local and global sustainable development.
